Clarke Quay
has
become one of the main tourist attractions in Singapore. Clarke Quay is an
entertainment area with restaurants, cafes, bars, nightclubs and shops
lining the Singapore River.
Clarke Quay is covered by a huge umbrella which protects all the restaurants and bars from the rain and it is also air-conditioned.
Ord Bridge, crossing the Singapore River and
was built in 1886 to connect Magazine Rd with River Valley Rd. The bridge
was named after Colonel Sir Harry George Ord who was the first Governor of
the Straits Settlement (1867 - 1873).
Across the other side of Ord Bridge from Clarke Quay is one of the oldest Chinese Temples in Singapore, Tan Si Chong Su (Po Chiak Keng) Temple, built in 1876. The temple is listed a Singapore National Monument and is still an active temple for the local Chinese temple. If you visit you will see many people praying and making offerings.

Getting to Clarke Quay Clarke Quay is located in central Singapore so only 5 - 10 minutes by taxi from Orchard Rd or Singapore city CBD area. There also is an MRT station Clarke Quay.

Indochine (Forbidden City) is one of the coolest bars and nightclubs in Clarke Quay. Sit out the front in one of the large lounge chairs and watch the crowd wander by or head inside to the Forbidden City nightclub for some great tunes and a bit of dancing. Helipad Bar Club for a really great experience head across the river from the main part of Clarke Quay and sit on the Helipad which is now the Helipad Bar and Club. With great views back over the river to Clarke Quay.
Hooters Bar Clarke Quay - as well as enjoying some fine drinks take in some optical exercise with the beautiful Hooters girls with their tight white tshirts and very tight orange shorts. With tables and chairs over looking the Singapore River.
